Basic Troubleshooting Steps

  • The Owl Camera is not focusing on the primary speaker, is constantly shifting, or is lagging. Or the microphone, speaker, or video are not displaying.

    • Leave & re-join the meeting through the room controller.

    • If the room is equipped with two Owl cameras, ensure that they are facing each other by lining up their "Faces".

  • The TV is not properly displaying the meeting or shared content:

    • Use the TV remote (attached to the back of the TV) to ensure the TV is turned on.

    • Ensure that the input is correctly set (proper input will vary by location.)

  •  An NHA Google Meet or Microsoft Teams meeting does not show “Join.”

    • The organizer needs to re-send the meeting invite (open the invite and re-send) and the room controller should have the option in a few seconds.

    • External meetings may not have this option.

  • The device connected via HDMI is not displaying on the TV / Projector:

    • To share with an in-person-only meeting, use the Share Content button. This will allow you to either use the supplied HDMI Cable or go to a website where your screen can be shared with the room controller.

    • To share with a remote meeting:

      • You may join the meeting on your device using Companion Mode and share from there.

      • You may connect directly to the room controller.

        • Connect the HDMI cable to your device.

        • Touch the "HDMI" button on the room controller screen, and choose "Share to Meeting."

        • When finished sharing, touch the "Sharing Content" button and choose "Stop Sharing.

  • The participants in the meeting room sound like they're in a wind tunnel:

    • This has been known to happen, primarily when the room is fairly quiet, the HVAC is on, and the remote participants are the ones doing most/all of the talking.

    • All meeting rooms have the highest level of noise reduction enabled by default.

    • If the effect persists, the room participant(s) may need to mute by pressing the microphone button on the controller, and leave it muted while the presentation is ongoing.

    • Once the participant(s) in the room begin speaking more regularly, the system should recognize the noise level and remove the HVAC sounds.
